Global brand ‘Auntie Anne’s’ shifts to DATCHE mobile POS, sets eye on expansion

AUNTIE Anne’s, an international food chain known for its hand-rolled soft pretzels and refreshing lemonades, recently shifted a number of their kiosk outlets to DATCHE POS 274 as a move to increase operational efficiency.

“POS 274 is a mobile, tablet-based POS system that’s designed for more flexibility,” explained Elsie Benarao, Datche sales director. “It’s an eight-inch enterprise-quality tablet with a semi-rugged design so it’s much more durable than home and commercial tablets. In fact, it can withstand up to 1.2-meter drop and is waterproof. It also features a variety of modularized peripherals such as 2D scanner, mobile POS jacket and holder making it a popular choice among our retail and F&B clients including Auntie Anne’s,” Benarao said.

“Auntie Anne’s originated in Pennsylvania, USA, and its first branch in the Philippines opened in SM North Edsa in 1995,” shared Sherile Guinto, its H.R. and I.T. manager. “The company aims to provide its customers with total satisfaction, consistency and excellence in its products and services,” Guinto added.

Datche has been Auntie Anne’s POS provider since 2015 starting with just five branches, to more than 70 branches this 2022.

“With our new POS hardware from Datche, our crew is no longer limited by the store space, especially that Auntie Anne’s have kiosk-type outlets. It’s slim and handy, yet conveniently delivers the features of a full-size POS set-up,” explains Guinto. Guinto also added: “With Auntie Anne’s being a global brand and with multiple outlets to manage nationwide, it’s crucial for us to invest in a reliable POS system that can help us run our operations smoothly.”

Despite the challenges in the past two years because of the global pandemic, Guinto disclosed that a number of Auntie Anne’s shops are slated to open within the year, and more in the years to come.
